Does drug addiction treatment really reduce the spreading of AIDS/HIV? |
I know that they're interrelated, so I was just wondering if drug addiction treatment would lessen HIV victims. Yes, drug addiction treatment would be able to reduce the spread of AIDS/HIV. Drug users are more likely to get affected by such diseases, so treating drug addicts will definitely help. Studies have shown that drug injectors who are not letting themselves be subjected to treatment are six times more likely to get infected with HIV or AIDS, as opposed to those who let themselves be subjected to treatment. yes it would reduce them significantly especially if the patients made a resolve to quit completely apart from trying to please others that serious rehabilitated person will reduce the rates of spread coz of reducing sharing of needles ,it reduces casual sex and reduces chances of that person recruiting another addict its a win win Well, if someone is using needles, it's possible, if not likely that they might use a dirty needle. Treating the addiction would in turn make them less likely to come into contact with an infected needle. You see how that works? Never thought of it that way. I suppose it could, when referring to needle users. A lot of prostitutes sell themselves for drug money, so that would also be a way. |
