When will we have an effective therapeutic vaccine for hiv? President Clinton said 2007, but? |
2007 is here and nothing. I recently read that scientists have found hiv's achilles heel, the crucial moment when it starts to bind with a healthy cell, it starts as a cautious handshake then a full on bear hug..they want to strike at the cautious handshake part. Then I read about using stem cells to ward off hiv. I hear all these different techniques and they say "this is it", but I never find someone saying with absolute certainty one can live a full life with hiv, if what they found is "it" then why can't they say that. Basically, I'm only asking if anyone has any idea when a vaccine or any other technique to keep hiv under control for life will be available? thank you. I'm not a scientist, so I really don't know. I can guarantee, however that it won't be in 2007. Since clinton said it, you can rest assured its not true. Anything coming from someone who was disbarred for unethical practices and held in contempt of court for lying twice is total BS. Clinton said a lot of things that he never followed through on. Read below. For starters, the scientists who make these new discoveries never say "this is it". They might say "this could be very useful for coming up with effective therapies", and the media turn that into "this is it". |
