Will an inventor of HIV vaccine that works become a billionaire?

Will an inventor of HIV vaccine that works become a billionaire?

if they work in a university lab, chances are that all their patents rights have been ceded to the university. the university gets all the profit from licensing the rights to the vaccine to a major pharmaceutical company. and the inventor/doctor,... well he gets a pat on the back, and maybe $1.

here's more on this.

Yes, but at what cost. and don't u mean inventor's cause that scientist wont make as much as those corporate crooks he works for.

HIV won't come until after cancer and other more common disease. Since the countries effected with it most, (Africa and India) I unfortunately doubt that a cure will be reached any time in this century, and if they did, they might be.

Yeh and then we will all turn into mindless ghouls and Will Smith will be a lone survivor.

The inventor may get a bonus check from employer.
The inventor may be awarded with Nobel Prize in Medicine.
The cure may get named after inventor, like happened with Polio vaccines.

However, the person who will become the billionairre will be the person who owns the most stock in the company the inventor works for.

Look at the money Bill Gates has made from Microsoft.
What did Bill Gates invent, other than the company itself?
