*Home>>>HIV Virus

My boyfriend is HIV +. I sat on his diarrhea left on the toilet seat. Can I contract the virus from this?

The stool was characteristic of intermittent pieces floating in a thick brown solution. There were red flakes that looked like red peppers. As my buttocks made contact with the diarrhea, I felt a slight burning tinge. I am afraid the virus is now replicating inside me. Please help!

Did you have any open sores on any part of you that touched it? Do you know if you think you were exposed to HIV, you can go to the hospital and they will start you on anti viral medication to stop the virus before it infects you?

WHO GAVE ME A THUMBS DOWN AND WHY?

Unless there was any blood in his diarrhea, then you are safe. Even if there was blood in it, as long as it only came in contact with your skin and did not get inside your bloodstream in any way (cuts; etc), then you have nothing to worry about.

Edit: "I suggest that first thing tomorrow you look up the number to your local pediatrician" -Dustin

You know a pediatrician is a Doctor for children, right? The correct sentence is "I suggest that you see your doctor and have a blood test to see if you have the virus"

I suggest that first thing tomorrow you look up the number to your local pediatrician and have her examine it in the lab.

In the mean time i have a few questions for you:

1. Could you tell if the "red peppers" were oblong or rectangular in shape?

2. Do you have any outstanding lesions or warts on your buttocks?

3. What did your boyfriend eat before he had the irregular stool?

I would consult with your boyfriend about why he left the mess in the first place and take the necessary legal action.

I hope this helps hun. Remember: Alone we are weak, but together we are strong!

Well its unlikely unless you had cut on the area that the liquid touched, or it went into your anus.

Bodily fluids need to come in contact with something inside you, such as your bloodstream or your private areas to actually take effect. If it was just your skin then your probably fine. It probably burned because diarrhea is very acidic.

But still, I would recommend you wait six months and get tested.
I'll be praying for you, good luck!

I've never heard of anyone contracting HIV+ from diarrhea. I think that your safe but you should probably go to a doctor and get a check up. Unless your buttocks has any open wounds or scars and the red flakes you saw were blood, you should be fine.

I'm pretty sure you can't get HIV from dirrahea. The burning could have been something he ate, as creepy as that sounds ;)

If anything continues, you should definately see a doctor, but I'm 95% sure you're fine.

Why wouldn't you make sure the seat was clean before sitting?

Like everyone said, check with your doctor. Get a full workup, "just to make sure". But you should be fine.

No. You cannot get HIV from the event you described. No risk. Move on with your life and put this behind you. The chance is ZERO. NIL

I find this hard to take seriously. why would anyone sit on a toilet seat that had doo on it in the first place?? EWWWWW
