Is it true that you can get HIV from kissing because...

there's the same amount of HIV virus in a gallon of spit that there is in a drop of blood. And since a drop of blood on a needle could give you HIV, then if you were making out A LOT and ended up exchanging a gallon of spit (I know it's unlikely but I'm sure it could happen) then couldn't you contract HIV? I have a feeling that doctors just say that you can't get HIV from kissing so that people with the disease aren't completely isolated, just because it's super unlikely.

I don't mean through blood. I mean through spit. Because it does have a little bit of the virus. Just not as much.

If you have any opening into your bloodstream, you could contract it from someone's saliva. This means you would have to have a cut in your mouth, a canker sore, or irritated gums due to periodontal disease/gingivitis.

The answer isn't a simple yes or no, because the risk factors may vary.

HIV isn't transmitted casually, so you can't get it from a hug, handshake or a kiss on, say, your cheek. However, lip-locking with an open mouth may be a slightly different story depending on the circumstances. Open-mouth kissing is considered a very low-risk activity for the transmission of HIV. However, prolonged open-mouth kissing could damage the mouth or lips and allow HIV to pass from an infected person to a partner and then enter the body through cuts or sores in the mouth.

basically you need to be bleeding into each others mouths... and i dont know about you but i've never looked at a girl and said damn i would love to make out with her but only if she's pouring blood due to bad dental hygiene.

No, you can not get HIV from kissing unless the two people kissing have open sores in their mouths.

As far as i heard you can only get HIV is you have a cut in your mouth...

They do not admit it, just accuse you of kissing something else.

if 1 of you has hiv and if you both have and open cut ..yeah

It depends on what kind of kissing you are doing.

only if youre infected bloodcells somehow get into their bloodcells, then yea

I don't know...but if you kiss that much to consume a gallon of spit, well that is discusting!!

Peace!

yea
ggggggggg gunot

you go kara m... just how i would of put it...

I don't think so.. maybe like, 1 in a million chance of that happening
