Roughly how long does it take for the HIV virus to die in Chortinated Warm water?

Im doing a project on diseases.

How long roughly would it take for a few drops of blood with HIV, to last in Chlorinated water, such as a big jacuzzi. Also how long would it take to die in NON chlorinated warm water in a big place, preferably same location.

Also would it be possible for people to get infected through this way? or would the enviroment just be too much for it to survive, and dilute the blood heavily

Rough estimates in Mins and Seconds please

Thanks

HIV itself cannot survive outside the body for long. In fact like all viruses HIV is not actually alive and cannot replicate until it enters a host cell, it is simply a piece of genetic coding (DNA/RNA) surrounded by a protein capsule.

The answer to your original question depends on several variables:
- contact time with bleach solution,
- concentration of solution,
- temperature of solution.

The actul chance of spreading HIV through a jacuzzi is is extremely low whether it be chlorinated or non chlorinated unless the patient was losing alot of blood.

The HIV virus is likely to be inactivated by a moderately concentrated chlorine solution at room temperature in a matter of seconds (about 30).

I hope this helps,

HIV dies in seconds in open air.

It would be even faster in chlorinated water.

You cannot spread HIV through water, chlorinated or otherwise. The whole reason HIV is spread sexually or through blood is because the virus cannot survive any other means of transmission.
