Do you mean other than HIV?

HIV attacks T-helper cells, a type of WBC which assists others, so it effectively destroys the body's ability to fight infection.

HIV is blood borne, it is transmitted by sex, blood transfusion/contaminated needles, occasionally through mucosal surfaces such as mouth or eyes that contact infected blood as well as from mother to child through the placenta or breast milk.
