Can HIV virus pass through condoms?

Can HIV virus pass through condoms?

i watched a programe the other day and a women who got raped while pregnant got diagnosed with HIV as a result of her being gang raped her baby was fine but she said on the programme that her and her husband always used condoms when they had sex which she had to have lots of help before resuming sexual relations with her husband.. he was on the programme with her unfortunately he now has been diagnosed with HIV and they were raising awareness so again teaching us that nothing is 100% safe

If the condom is latex, then it is highly unlikely. While condoms technically don't provide 100% protection, they do come close to it.

Here's some reassuring stats for you.

If you are a man and you have UNprotected sex with a HIV Positive woman (Vaginal), then you have about a 1 in 1000 chance on contracting the virus.

So with a latex condom, it's technically impossible. The odds are astronomical. You've more chance of being hit by a meteorite while winning the lotto on you birthday.

There's a reason why AIDS charities promote condoms. It's because they are so effective.

Yes. Condoms are not 100% protection, although chances are EXTREMELY slim. You have a better chance at having the winning power ball ticket while being struck by lightning, lol.

No. HIV is to large to pass through the barrier of a latex condom. So the chances of transmisson through protected sex are 1 in 1 million.

John just gave the perfect answer. Don't even think about it. You are not going to get HIV through a condom, so get put some in your wallet, just in case, lady luck gets friendly with you.

Yes, any virus can pass through a condom, whether it will or wont depends on many things.
