Hypothetical Question about AIDS & HIV Virus?

Remember, this is a completely hypothetical question.
Tom & Jerry are best friends & roommates in college. They both drink only beer & both smoke only cigarettes. No other alcohol or drugs of any kind. Tom is HIV-Positive & Jerry is HIV- Negative & Both know this. One night, they both go out to a bar. 2 hours later, Tom has to pee, leaving about 2 mouthfuls of beer in his mug & a cigarette 3/4 of the way done. The Bartender (Does not know about the HIV status) asks if they want a refill on him. Jerry finishes the last of Tom's beer so as not to waste it, grabs Tom's cigarette & finishes THAT off & says yes to the refill as Tom returns to the bar. Can Jerry catch the HIV Virus because he finished Tom's beer & cigarette?

no. hiv/aids is a sexually transmitted disease. meaning you have to come in contact with some type of body fluid for it to be transmitted ie: semen, blood, ect. In rare cases, hiv has been transmitted through breast milk. It is very unlikely to catch hiv/aids from saliva, but it occasionally does happen. But, there are also many individuals who are with people that have hiv/aids and kiss and are affectionate, but never get the virus because they use protection during all types of sexual activities.

No. HIV is NOT passed through food and drink or by sharing cigarettes.

In order for Jerry to get HIV from Tom they would need to be having unprotected sex with each other, or sharing needles or other injecting equipment.

thats a retarted question. HIV is a sexually transmitted disease no u cant get hiv that way

NO.
There would have to be like gallons, yes you read right gallons of Toms saliva on both objects for there to be even a small chance of infection.

And even then, there are other factors that would have to be in play. Like a very extremely high virla load from Tom, and ulceration of the stomach and mouth lining form Jerry.
