HIV Virus Dies once exposed to air?

Is it real that HIV Virus dis once exposed to air?

That it dies when exposed to air is totally false.

Laboratories funded by the CenterForDiseaseControl, the CDC has run extensive tests on HIV viruses and found they can indeed survive in air providing the moisture level is high enough , temperature is within a range, and ultraviolet sunlight does not destroy its makeup.

So as a result of these findings, the Labs around the world protect their personell working with the viruses with special filtration equipment that they must wear when working with test tube samples of the virus so as to minimize the possible exposure of their lungs to the possible airborne HIV.

However, to day, not a single case of HIV transmission has been attributed to airborne HIV viruses. About 5 years ago an invected HIV dentist supposively transmitted the disease to a patient via Air Exposure, this could not be verified as factual.

The reason for this is rather unknown, at least at this point no documentation of such transmission has occured.

i hope so it is a terrible disease

YES. IT NEEDS SOMEWHERE TO FEED OFF OF

Does it die once exposed to air..... I don't think it does... it would be great if it did. I do believe that it does not live long after being exposed to air because the virus itself is very "fragile". That is why you can not get it through the air, on toilet seats, ect. but it can live for a small period of time (probably seconds) in order to effect someone else with direct contact. This is the reason protective equipment (gloves, gowns, ect )are worn by medical caregivers.

Yes it is true that once HIV comes into contact with the air it dies.
Most places I know they use a bleeching agent to make things more sterile.
The virus cannot outside the body as it needs the blood cells to feed off of.

The HIV virus doesn't die once it is exposed to air. However, it is very unstable outside a host (i.e. humans) and will die in 24-48 hours. This in no means signifies that the virus can be transmitted through air.
