What is clinical risk assessment of HIV/AIDS and what are its implications? |
How do we conduct clinical risk assessment? I could guess as to what that means, but I really don't know so I won't. I do however know what the "window period" is. Usually speaking, a person is not tested for the virus, but rather for the antibodies that are produced to fight the virus. To make new antibodies to fight the HIV takes the body time. It can take up to 6 months, but usually a 3 month test is considered conclusive. The window of time that a person can be infected with the virus and still test negative is called the "window period". Also, I'm assuming that the clinical risk assessment is just that. It is designed to assess how much risk you were put in, but I don't know for sure! Ask your Doc, this site is NOT a replacement for a health care professional! Hope that helps! As noted, teh window period simply means the period before whether a person is infected or not is uncertain- for 8 weeks the tests may be pending or false negative. During this time, persons who really are recently infected may themselves be very infectious to others. Public health departmetns go to great lengths to prevent persons who are not known to be infected, but MAY be, from spreading HIV infection to others. ALWAYS USE A CONDOM PLEASE MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU If you think you have Aids, why are writing on here....get your asss to a hospital and have yourself checked out Dude. |
