What is the real period for HIV window period. one year or two? |
i 'm a bit confused because quite sure about window period for HIV? 6 MONTH OR ONE YEAR OR TWO YEAR? I have read that it takes about a month before it will be detected in a test. Now an Orasure test picks up the antibodies when stick is placed between inside of cheek and gums, it takes 20 minutes to give results which are as accurate as a blood test. Once you take that test and get your results and do not expose yourself (have unprotected sex) if not abstinence, and get tested again in 6 months and again in a year from the first test, IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD UNPROTECTED SEX OR REMAINED ABSTINENT, and your test rtesults (the first, then the second six months later and the third which was one year from the first test. YOU ARE NEGATIVE, regardless of the past and unless you expose yourself to sex which means exposing yourself to body fluids from someone else, male or female, you will remain negative. Which means you will not get AIDS. no one can tell..i've heard that there are some up to 11 years. usually less than 3 months, but sometimes up to 6 months What do you mean between "window"? Between the moment you get infected and the moment they can detect it with ELISA, a latency period of 6 weeks to 6 Months is regarded as normal, but it can be faster or slower. With new diagnostic tools coming, that window may be shortened. |
