How long do people usally live with hiv?

You can live with HIV for up to ten years before it mutates into AIDS. Everyone is different. It depends on that persons overall health, if they stick to there treatment/medications etc.

These days, with treatment, many people with HIV are able to live longer, healthier than they used to. The length of time a person lives depends on many things, including their health prior to infection, response to the virus, and response to treatment.

with proper treatment and following a strict medication schedule, we are now seeing hiv infected people live up to 20 years or more before progressing to AIDS.
