Please Advise on What to do?

Last year I was living a good life after battling testicular cancer two years earlier. Went back to work and felt well... I have been working my whole life and graduated from college.
Back in Oct. I woke up 3 weeks later with my world shattered into a million pieces.
Unable to talk (had a trach), unable to walk, unable to write, or read. I went to rehad and got a little better.
Too come to find out I had pnemonia and I was lucky enough my mom found before it was too late.
While in the rehad I had so many scary hallucination's. Then still in a daze and wondering what was wrong my doctor came in and talked to me with my mom...to come to find out I had **AIDS** not just HIV
it was so bad my counts were so high they were surprised I had not died.
So this year I am feeling a little better but a little depressed still letting it sink in...with the medication (only 1 pill) and my pulmonary aneurysm and a little depression.
Then to come to find out my job is not waiting for me...Can it get any worse...
So I filled out the paperwork for SSDI in California. How can this happen to me... then to come to find out I think it is also because I am gay they do not want me back...before all this happened I was the "Golden Boy" then when EVERYONE got the word I was to me nothing anymore...any advice!
I hate not have as good of a memory as I use to, and concentration is bad, fatigue, and on and on =)

thanks!

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear about all of your health problems. Unfortunately, because HIV rarely has symptoms in the first several years, some people who haven't been tested are first diagnosed when they get another infection such as PCP pneumonia. (You need a specific test to detect antibodies or the virus itself. HIV can't be diagnosed through routine blood tests such as CBC, etc.) Depression is a normal reaction when finding out you have any life threatening condition. Follow your doctors' advice about treatment. Even when diagnosed with full-blown AIDS, people could live for years. I know of one person who was diagnosed with full-blown AIDS 10 years ago. She has recently recovered from PCP pneumonia, and is doing relatively well. (I don't know her personally, but see a friend of hers every once in a while.)
I think it would be a good idea for you to see a counselor to talk about your situation and your feelings. Your doctor(s) might be able to recommend someone. It's really important that you have support right now. I hope that you also have support from your family and friends.
I wish I could give you more suggestions, but I hope you find some of my suggestions helpful.
