Do you have hiv? and how do you cope with it? |
I do not have it, however i hear all the mean comments people say about it, but imagine how the person living with it feels. I do have genital herpes, and i hate that i have to live with it, and i know if people know they would say very rude things and make me feel worse about it then i already did. So i am just wondering do you it, and how does it effect your life and your relationships how did you get it possibly? I dont have it but I was diagnosed with it last year just based on symptoms and an idiot doctor. After 6 months and getting tested again I was sure I did not have it and he was a moron. But I lived for 6 months under the assumption that I had it. I researched it alot, and it does suck that theres no cure and you couldnt be intimate with people(Like if you were single when your diagnosed, it seems like you would have to be single the rest of your life, or find someone else who has it), unless your steady lover is who you got it from. I was with a girl in a country very high on the hiv list, and I happened to be in a town that is the worst town in that country. I was with her for 3 months and many times my condoms broke, so when I began to get sick and she acted weird, I got nervous and saw a doctor. He then informed me of this town and how bad of a reputation it has when it comes to HIV and how the type there is subtype-e which is a nastier strain the type found in Africa or USA (he supposedly volunteered in this town when he first got out of law school treating people with hiv). He looked in my throat, looked at the skin conditions I was having, and sent me to the hospital since I was freaking out with a diagnosis of acute hiv. I guess he thought their tests would be better than his. They told me it was negative but I would have to wait 6 months since subtype-e sometimes takes that long, while other strains are usually 3 months for most people. I waited thinking I had it. I've been tested 4 times since then, that was a year and a half ago. I still dont know what caused all those symptoms I was having, maybe stress brought on other things. Anyways, I feel for those people who do have it, but after researching it alot, I believe its not as bad as it was 10 years ago and its not a death sentence like it once was. On average, most people with HIV can expect to live 25 years now after diagnosis. So there's actually worse things out there that you could be diagnosed with. But I still feel for the people who have it but I think a cure or at least a vaccine is around the corner, within 25 years at least, so people diagnosed now may be cured in their lifetime. Not sure yet but I have gone through 5 years of testing because at the dental lab I worked at a dentist sent in an impression that was bloody and in very small letters on the order he had written hiv+ instead of huge red letters that he was supposed to write it in. Another employee and myself were in contact with it. We were wearing gloves but our insurance company and my doctor insisted we be tested every 6 months. Also I want to continue being tested for at least 2 more years just for peace of mind. The not knowing has changed my life but my husband is very supportive and we take all precautions. i dont, sorry no help here. however i feel your personal pain and views. i despise pricks like "butters" i hope his house is being foreclosed on so i can say i i have no sympathy for him for getting himself into a mortgage beyond his financial capabilities. point is, people make mistakes at all points in their lives and very few we have to pay for for the rest of our lives. what is around now like stds may not have been around as statisticly as much when "butters" was going through his teens/twenties. or perhaps "butters" couldnt get "any" period and fortunately for him doesnt have to deal with the consequences that he would have to if he could get "some" especially when it simply doesnt matter how careful you are when having sex, teens now days face more danger sexually than any generation before them fred butters: sara whats ur age ? this kind of problem also comes between 15 to 22 or 25age. so u dont need to be worry abt it. just consult to any dr. he/she might suggest u any medicine. i have zero sympathy for those people |
