How close are we to finding a cure for HIV or AIDS?

I read on about.com that you can live for an average of 24 years after being diagnosed with HIV now, up from about 7 in the 90's. Can you live longer than that? How close are we to finding a cure?

the first answerer is correct...there are cures for aids and cancer and a lot of other diseases. They make a lot of money on surgery,medication,treatments,etc... all year long. think about it.
There are also several vitamins that are illegal because they help too much. Sounds ridiculous, i know. I did research and found that it was true.
