Boyfriend gave me std knowingly? |
so i was going out with this guy for about a year lately i been noticing that my vagina was itchy red and smelly... i freaked out go to dr and find out that i have HPV.... wonderful... an std... so i confront my bf and find out he knew he had it he just never bothered to tell me... i live in canada i am sooo pissed and i dont know what to do... this is incurable and now i have a itchy and smelly vagina.... soo uncomfortable... and the worst this is no cure and may cause cancer in the future.......... does anyone know if there is any legal action i can take against this jerk? i know you can do something if someone knowingly gives you AIDS/HIV.. I dont know Canadian law, but here in Missouri there is no law against that (unfortunately) but we do have the state statue regarding recklessly or knowingly exposing HIV/AIDS. Dear Astrid, you owe it to yourself and to all the women that he will infect in the future to seek prosecution. I would definitely contact an attorney...usually an initial consultation with an attorney is at no charge, just to see if there is something you can do about it. That is despicable ...there is no worse person on the earth than a liar and someone who would harm your physical and mental well being. there was a thing in the news not that long ago where a male prostitute was charged as he knew he had an STD and continued to have unprotected sex with others without telling them. That's annoying! contact legal aid,or some lawyer, that sucks,I have one myself, and it f--- up my life last 25 years. I can understand your frustration, this happened to someone very dear and close to my heart. Unfortunately, practicing safe sex is the responsibility of both partners. I have read up on the HPV and it's a scary STD with so many different strands. I understand there are more then a hundred fifty HPV , also, if you go with someone else that has another std, it can mutate. This is one reason there have been so many advertisements for women to be vacinated for HPV. I talked with a doctor about this, they said it can lay dormant in your system after awhile. Also, it can be transfered on hard objects like tanning beds etc. |
