Is there any kind of hope for what used to be South Africa?

Since the establishment of the so-called 'Rainbow Nation' in 1994, with the election of the terrorist, Nelson Mandela, South Africa has descended into barbarism and chaos.
Rape, rape of infants, murder, car-jacking and corruption are the normal way of life, with South Africa having some of the highest crime stats in the world.
The population's way of dealing with this is to live in denial and say 'well, it happens all over the world.'
AIDS is out of control, and a witchdoctor is the national health minister.
The infrastructure is crumbling and Johannesburg has become a war-zone/ghost town.
Apartheid has been reinstituted, this time favoring blacks, and the president is a drunk that believes that HIV is not the genesis of AIDS.

Any hope?

mapompana - shooting 12 year olds, as opposed to raping 12 month olds?

They say that you must never give up and hope for the best but it's difficult to have any hope in this country. Not when you have the ANC as the ruling party and Thabo Mbeki as president. We can't even turn to the police for any help. A man was attacked last week in the city Pretoria. He was sitting in his car when three men appeared out of nowhere. The one had a knife and started to attack the man through the half open window. They knew he had R2000.00 cash on him. A black cop was standing just a few metres away, so the guy called for help but the cop did nothing. He just stood there and watch. Only after they took of with his money, the cop walked up to him. So what does that tell you? They are working together. I can also name a few more incidents where white women were assaulted by corrupted cops. They enjoy every single moment of it. President Thabo Mbeki gave his yearly speech last week and he didn't give us any hope about the crime in this country. He stood there with no emotion on his face. He didn't even say that he feels sorry for all the crime victims and we all know that they don't want to do anything about the crime and we know that FNB was being blackmailed or threatened. Now AfriForum is trying to do something. They issued a court order to take the government to court, so that they can realise that crime must be on top of their list. Dunno if it's going to work. Let's hope for the best. O and another shocking incident that happened two weeks ago. A guy was working after hours and was about to close when three men came out of nowhere. They then asked him for money and he told them that he had no money with him. They then throw gasoline all over him and set him on fire with matches. He died a day later. They don't just take off with your belongings anymore. They torture or shoot you dead. They are getting more cruel and barbarous by the day.

Yes most goverment officials are failing South Africans and you have every right to be worried and angry but calling Mr.Mandela a terrosist is taking a bit too far!
He happens to be a nobel peace prize winner you know and he is a well respected man globally only a dunderhead like you wouldn't recognize that!
You are propably one of those people who thinks shooting of 12 year olds(which was done by the previous goverment) was not barbaric!
Dude if you still live in South Africa i recommend you migrate from SA and follow in the footsteps of rightwingers like yourself!!!

nope i guess not. we have it worse living here. every one else round the world thinks its not that bad. the goverment carries on about apartheid but dnt they realise that we having apartheid all over again just the other way round. i was watching a show on sabc 3 last nyt this women asked this moron whether he thought crime was undercontrol and he is so convinced that it is, its actually scaring considering his some ceo of some goverment company. and then our absolelty wonderful president reckons that we only have 7% crime in south africa and i think we have seven percent in germiston and 93% round the rest of sa.
people are suffering with the goverment we have yet they to stupid to vote for someone else. so ya i have to say there's no hope and any body who thinks differently obviously doenst live here.

I hope not Brad. I will leave before I have to face Apartheid again

Yes there is hope if every one put's aside political difference's and as one say "no more crime" and put huge pressure on the government to do something about it, otherwise massive nation wide work stoppages and civil action, people power.

Sadly even that is a pipe dream , there is just too much baggage from the past for everyone to stand united.

I have to be honest-i am hopeless and negative. I feel that there is no future for me in this country.

I also believe that respect and dicipline start at home, theres no point in pointing fingers if you aren't trying to make a difference yourself.

To all that have hope still: thank you.

Myself: I need to see changes for the better.
I want to vote during the nxt election (unable to choose a party -bunch of lunatics i feel).
I want Zuma in jail.
I want equality ( not reversed racism )
the list goes on................

I don't think so. There is always hope - whether that hope becomes a reality though remains to be seen.

Its really ashame I live in the US and you have a beautiful country wondering if your country did something like France is doing after their riots having their police train in the US particularly Los Angeles to help try and control your crime. Might be something to suggest I dont know how open your government is.

why are we giving SA so much crap?
i'm tired of people accepting every single thing the media says, and we sit here hearing obnoxious americans trashing us saying all sorts of horrid things i never even thought existed in south africa. the apartheid era wasnt good either, so what do you want? not ever single person is responsible for crime (this includes blacks) and not every south african is HIV/AIDS infected... we dont live in cages fearing every single step we take. as for naming Mandela a terrorist, that would only come from a bitter afrikaaner mad as hell that he's people arent still in control and treating people like animals. there is a whole lot of hope for south africa and we are seeing it in most of the youth who've never experienced oppression because they are trying to fight as the june 16 youth did. but this is a different fight, against the very things that are killing us now... i'm a black youth and i know everythng that is happening isnt because we're all savages. most of it may be wrong but the causes arent right either... poverty that would've never existed had there been no apartheid, education on behalf of those who have no clue about AIDS or have the needed resources to educate them on/about the disease... just voetsek the hell out of SA! And remember, not everyone like F*ing lucky you was raised with a flippin silver spoon up their ***,got an education and a pass to f*ing everywhere!!! your barbaric fore fathers forced us to the crrent situation, they're the underlying coz.... so f off!!!! Surprisingly most of the people replying are white... and their opinion on SA is whack. live the life of a black man before you can complain about SA, have your mom in jail pregnant because she was out at the wrong hour, have your dad kicked out of a place because he had a different skin colour. had we had equal rights back then, maybe we'd have been as smart and unbarbaric as the rest of the white nation. my grandad is white and he totally agrees coz this entire statement is the view he raised me on.. he himself couldnt raise my mom or be with my gran because of apartheid...my own brother robbed a house once so he could find me school shoes. it hurt me because he did the wrong thing so i wouldnt have to walk to school in messed up flops or barefoot... my parents earn peanuts because they werent rich enough to afford school fees and get great education to become doctors and lawyers... what about those in the rural areas? who have no clue of certain things in the world... who still fetch water from rivers and have no idea about AIDS and its causes, dont have televisions nor educated enough parents who will tell them to do this to succeed and ...you know what? its pointless telling a bunch of ignoramouses about a life they've never had to experience... i'm just happy for that you didnt have to live our kind of life...or you'd hang yourself...bunch of spoiled bratts.
i'm not ashamed of my race... we're strong people who have overcome a lot. those who complain should leave, my grandad is white, i wouldnt want him to leave. there are white people out there helping solve the problem, not continuously complain. what more do you want? you still have most control of SA. Apartheid happened, i cant ignore it cz it affected my family...but you being white wouldnt know anyway, so ja, lets all act la dee da and pretend its all over but expect to deal with people calling Madiba a terrorist? its not over by a long shot! and i bet you didnt expect a black person on this forum to stand up for her people? some of you obviously dont like us...so why stay? leave SA!!!!! and the whites who are more than happy to help may stay because they are more genuine than the rest of you... i dont care how you feel or how terrorised you are. everyone has experienced some bit of crime even blacks...so stop acting like you're living in flippin hell. stop giving outsiders more brutally rude amo to attack us using. as if i'm ducking bullets and land mines everyday... dont put your shame on me. i'm BLACK and proudly so!!!! I'm posting this to daily sun and eventually it will circle the entire SA... i'm sure mandela will be amazed to know he's savage and barbaric and so is the rest of the balck south african nation...that you mean to say F*ck apartheid, it never happened and you suffer more now in your little house in sandton...intriguing.
