Do you know a Sangha where I can live for the rest of my life?

Now we are almost one and a half year after I disrobed in Thailand to
reurn to The Netherlands. The mean reason, as you know, for that was
the fact that I couldnot pay the HIV-medication in Thailand.

In the meantime it has become very clear to me that I want to live in
a Buddhist Sangha, to incorporate buddhisme more in my life and to
help other people in this way.

In the mean time the cost of the medication for HIV-medication in
Thailand is much lower than one year ago. Now the cost is between
1800 and 4000 Bath (1 EUR = 44.0052 THB) each month. This is still
on the longer term a serious amount. Unfortunally I have not such
amount and I cannot earn it in a few years.

There is also an other possibility. Last year I went to France and I
stayed a longer time in a Tibetean monastery. There it is possible to
study and practise Tibetean buddhism.

My first choice is to go back to Thailand and help my teacher by
setting up a meditationcenter.

In a few weeks I will make a definitive decision. But to make a good
decision all opportunities and threaths have to be seen.

So this is the information I want to join with you. And I also want
to ask you to react if you think you can give me some usefull advice.

I hope you will be happy today and for the rest of your life.

With all respect, I doubt any sangha is keen to accept your application if the main reason is related to medication-dependency.

However, you may try to contact any sponsors or people whom may be kind enough which are able to sponsor you on the long run for the medications (I suppose, any Thai who has the financial capability could do), when you are a monk there.

There are also several hospitals which provide free medication for monks (you need to check on them if you're in Thailand)...

I understand your desperation in this situation and it may be hard to get any real help.

Sukhi Hontu...

Dear Sir,with due respect, joining the Shanga is to join the 'Universal Family'it is a decision to be taken very seriously,as a grain of rice from the devotee is as big as the great mountain, if one did not reach the other 'shore' the paying back can take a long long time.To my knowledge,if you steal from one person, you only answere to one person,if you steal public property you will have to answere to a nation but you steal from the Shanga, you will have to answere to the universe, that is why breaking up the Shanga is very serious deed, for it concern the obstruction of other people 'Dharma life'.If your aim is to save yourself and others, than what you need is determination and sincerity,i am sure your wish will be fullfiled.May Buddha be with you.AMITUOFO
