Best song from RENT?

my school is learning about HIV and AIDS and I was wondering which part in the movie or song would best show what living with AIDS is like.

probabaly the scene where they are at the life support meeting is the best.

You could always pick the most well known song from it, seasons of love, which shows that they know they have only a year left (approximately) because of their HIV/AIDS. I think that one best illustrates that. Also, the song Without You kind of shows how they feel about losses from HIV/AIDS. Another song would be the song that they sing in a circle at the HIV/AIDS support group, but I cant remember the name...oh yeah, Will I? is the name of the song. Hope that helps!

There's a scene where they are all at an HIV support group. I can't remember the name of the song, but its very pretty and touching. It goes something like... "will I lose my dignity, will someone care. Will I wake tomorrow from this nightmare?"

Its called "Will I". Makes sense looking at the lyrics.. :)

seasons of love and no day but today

la vie boheme

Life support would be good... or Will I... almost any of them would be amazing.... One Song Glory is my personal Favorite- If I were you, Id just pick my favorite and you can argue any point if you want it bad enough... they ALL relate to AIDS in some way...

um.. .Seasons of Love because that's the only one i know :P

Oh that's really hard. Hmm
-"Without You" talks about losing people and how hard it is to watch someone you love die
-"Finale A" is about how Mimi is dying and is fairly depressing, but it would be really weird out of context
-"Life Support" and "Will I?" (which sound really good one after the other) are really great- they talk about the fear a person goes through after find out they have HIV, and how to deal with it
-"Glory" is about a character wanting to make his mark on the world before he dies of the disease
-"Seasons of Love," "Seasons of Love B" and "Finale B" (all very pretty) don't necessarily have to pertain to AIDS, but they're about knowing you don't have forever and appreciating the life you're living now - which is the kind of thing that comes to mind with a terminal illness
-"I'll Cover You (Reprise)" is so, so pretty. It might be a stretch to say it's directly about AIDS, but I think it is. The character Collins is singing about how his lover died of AIDS, and it's just really really sad and so beautiful, so if you're trying to portray how AIDS affects those left behind this is a good one.

Wow, this is depressing! Good luck.

Well in the OBC, "You Okay Honey?" talks about AIDS a little. "One Song Glory" is about Roger's struggle with AIDS and his girlfriend who killed herself because she had AIDS. That's probably the best, actually. It's full of emotion and passion and shows how Roger feels.
