Can you get hep c or hiv from dried blood on a towel? |
What if you had scabbed cuts that made contact with it? I was drying off using my own towel after showering, and noticed some patchy spots of blood on the towel. I think a guest who came to our home earlier may have bled slightly on it when he decided to wash his hands and dry them on my towel. I've heard something like hep c can live for weeks outside the body. Do you know for a fact that your guest has hep and hiv??? Do you know for a fact that this particular guest dried his hands on this particular towel? How do you know the blood didn't come from you when you were shaving or something? I think you're worrying for nothing, but In any event, I think (not sure though) that the viruses die when blood dries. Also, you didn't have an open wound that came in contact with it! I'd talk to your doctor anyway though and get tested in a few months if you're pretty certain that your guest was infected. are you sure that your guest has Hep C? why don't you wash your towels? Yes hepatitis can live outside the body. If you think you may have come in contact with it go to the doctor right away don't take chances if you wait too long then they can't do anything about it. They are both blood borne viruses. Only way you can get them is from sex, or blood to wound contact. i have a exboyfriend thst got hep c after cleaning his brothers blood from his home Hep c is a blood bourne pathogen> Working in hospitality you learn a little about Bio-Hazards.
