I got HIV/AIDS what should I do?

How long do I have left to lived and yes i have been diagnosed

You should live your life to the fullest now and I don't mean sexually. Spend the little time you have with your family and friends. People who get this disease generally have only a few years or less to live. That is because the risk of infection is so high with the immune system deteriorating.

I am sorry for your bad news.

If you just got it I say finish up school. Then, RELAX. Take a break, travel, see the world and learn to really appreciate it for all it's worth.

When you feel you have changed and soaked it all in and done some serious down time thinking about what type of person you are and what you'd like to accomplish with the time you have left, then go back to work. Play the field and get into a career that you can really enjoy.

You'll get the most out of your time by doing this. Learn to appreciate and savor every day you have left. In this way, the virus will not damn you to just waiting for your untimely death.

I'm sure you will live a decent amount of time, wasn't all this discussed with your Doctor? If I were you I'd change Doctors, you should have cleared all these questions with him/her.

I do not know how long you have to live - you could have many, many years - depending on what stage of the disease you are in and how strong you are mentally and physically to deal with it. No one can really tell you how long you have to live - there is a lot of hope for HIV patients...
Discuss your options with your physician there are a lot of medicines out today. You didn't mention where you live (Country) and it's important to clarify if you are in the HIV stage or if it has gone into full blown AIDS - big difference. If you are in the HIV stage there are medications that can help slow it down so that it doesn't reach the AIDS stage. You should discuss your options with your doctor - there is a lot more available today to help you. Best of Luck.

No one comes with an expiration date. Thanks to the advances in modern medicine, HIV is no longer a death sentence.

Also, which is it that you have, HIV or AIDS? Yes, there is a huge difference. Are you seeing a doctor that specializes in HIV and AIDS patients? What about lab work, CD4, viral loads, etc.? All of these contribute as to how far the disease has progressed.
