With all due respect, you were only believing in what you were told @ 12. The rest of us "adults" weren't sure if what we were being told. I would have gone of the quarantine crowd too. In fact, I remember people in the DFW airport who had tables with signs "quarantine HIV" and getting people to sign their petition around that time.

It was around 1992 when someone caught it from their dentist. There are still cases where cops and paramedics have gotten it from very minimal exposure to blood of AIDS carrier.

That being said, if you felt that there were no other ways to catch AIDS at that time, then you were living in a cave.

As for Huckabee...he was stupid to say it, but I recall that about 1/2 of those I knew back then were calling for an AIDS colony much like the leper colonies.
