If hiv person take drugs regularly, can he live lifetime, if he just start from hiv? Some people are called non-progressors. They have the HIV, but somehow, something is wrong with the HIV and they never have to take medication and can live a long, somewhat healthy life. Others are not too lucky. They may get a slightly tweaked virus that is strong and can spread quickly. There was one case of a man on the east coast who had numerous sex partners and he died rather quickly after being diagnosed with HIV The reason was because some of his partners had HIV and passed it to him. Then, when the doctors checked him, they noticed several different forms of HIV, which were hard to treat with only one HAART treatment. For your question, peopel with HIV are living a lot longer now when they take medication. But, they will never live a truly long and bountiful life because eventually AIDS will take over. AIDS is 100% fatal. So I believe you are asking that if a person is HIV positive and takes his drugs, will he still get AIDS? Eventually, yes. some people live 20-30 years A person with HIV does not always develop full blown AIDS. It is likely that he will but it is not always the case. The drugs that are available can lengthen life considerably. Look he may not have the lifetime a healthy person could have but hey look at Magic Johnson...he was diagnosed around 9 or 10 years ago and he still looks good and healthy looking.I think his longevity (your friend) will depend on never skipping his meds, find all the research he can find and never ever give up hope...good luck Hi there, |
