How long can a person live with hep c and being hiv+??

Quite a while. Maybe 25-30 years? There are many variables which would start with great medical care, great medical insurance, access to the latest HIV & HepC drugs, willingness to follow complicated treatment regimens for long periods of time, using no recreational drugs or alcohol, a strong will to live and a lot of luck. The Hep C should be treated now with the pegelated interferon/ribavirin combo treatment looking towards the possibility of going viral negative. Being viral negative for hep C would mean less stress on your immune system, less risk of liver cancer and give you a better chance at fighting the HIV. It is very important to have an excellent infectious disease Dr that you trust and believe in.

10 years ago Hep C was almost untreatable and now things are very different. Who is to say that HIV might soon be at least much easier to manage in the near future. Having HIV or AIDs is already an altogether different situation than from 15 years past when it was a quick death sentence. good luck
