Can HIV suvrive in lube?

does anyone know? if someone with hiv were to place their semen in a small bottle of lube would it live in there and could someone get hiv if they used that lube

this is a serious question im so paranoid that someone could have done this im just paranoid about stuff like this because someone placed lube from a small bottle he opened on my penis and i dont really know the person. The bottle looked clear and nothing about it looked funny. it didn't look like something else was in the bottle just prue lube but i'm still paranoid because i have gone through a health scare a while ago. we didn't have sex oral or anal nor kissed he just wanted to play lube on me and i'm curious now please any info would help

Also the lube was an orange color i don;t know if that makes any difference perhaps semen is more noticible when mixed in that color of lube

no it needs human enzymes in human blood to survive. it's highly unlikey to even catch aids when it's been outside of the body for even a small period of time.

i found this out by various trained professionals thanks Report It

I think it can but i recommend going to a clinic and getting tested and the answer above me is just a bunch of bull you can get hiv from girls to go back to your little hole and leave this section alone if you hate gays this much just leave

Nah it needs a human host. So it couldn't survive outside the body.

Dont listen to the person above me...

HIV can live outside of a host for several hours.

Dont use any lube unless you know where it came from. Be safe and get yourself tested.

Remember HIV doesnt show up in the body for at least 6 months for infection...so you have to wait it out until then to get a real test.

Check here for facts! CDC

Steve gave you a better answer, but he麓s not totally accurate. First of all, yes, the virus can survive in the lube, so if you were exposed, then you should be tested. It is possible to show a positive result in as short a time as two weeks, but for most people, it takes about 30 days. HOWEVER, there are some people who will take as long as 6 months before they show a positive result. The LONGEST I am aware of was one case that took 14 months before seroconversion took place. So, you should get tested 3 times: 30 days after exposure, then 6 months later, and then 7 monhts after that.

It doesn't matter, honey.

1) Throw out the lube. You can get lube for $2.50 at Wal-Mart.

2) Get yourself tested if you're not sure. You REALLY don't want to be playing guessing games with your health.

If in doubt, throw it out. Nobody's a big enough penny-pincher to not throw out possibly-contaminated Astroglide.

yes, it can survive in any moist substance... get yourself tested every three months for a year. sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we need to keep the truth out there for those who are not well informed.
