Can you live for 50 years if you are infected of HIV?

a mother was infected of HIV through blood transfussion.she did breastfeeding with her 3 siblings not aware that shes infected of the virus.in the long run she notice some syndrome when she found out about the virus it was already an AIDS.her siblings was diagnose only after 50 years of there age.is it possible?and they said that HIV is also hereditary coz all of there siblings now is also infected of the virus.and their siblings is already grown ups.

You can get HIV from your mother while in the uterus, or through breast milk, but that's not the same thing as inheriting it.

These siblings did not get the virus from their mother in the 1950s, it hasn't been in the population that long.

Someone could potentially live for 50 years on medication, we won't know that for about another 30-40 years, but the won't go that long without drugs.

So the answer here is no, that story is not true.

no,i cannot tell correctly but some recent medical news about aids says it is possible only in rare cases, and aids does not spread through breast feeding by infected mother to her children.well may be its a miracle

My best friend has been HIV+ for 22 years....he is now 57 years old and healthier than most people half that age

Yes you can. If you can keep the general infections away. The AIDS manifests only when the CD4 cell count is reduced to below 200
The HIV virus lives in the CD4 cells in side the body. CD4 cells get active whenever there is infection and that's the time when the HIV virus multiplies and kills the CD4 cell and infect the newer ones. Hence if you can keep the infection away there will be less times when the CD4 cells will be activated and the virus will multiply and destroy more CD4 cells.
CD4 cells are vital for the function of our immune system.

You have to continue the anti HIV medicines also.
When the count is reduced to less than 200 the full blown aids develops.

take a test one time more

During 2006 Toronto AIDS Conference, i had met with U.S. people who are infected with HIV virus from past two decades and still in good health.
But in India it"s a tall claim, most of the people gen rally live 8-10 years and then give up to opportunistic infections.
But you are asking about 50 years, virus is only 25 year old so i am sure nobody can claim with giving example.

HIV was first diagnosed in 1986, when it was found that people were dying from some unknown disease, it was traced back to 1982, and they can not find any cases recorded before that, so can people live for 50 years, we will know in 2032.
