If you contracted HIV last september...How long will you live with no medication?

what are some early signs of HIV?

Early signs are sore throat, fever, swollen glands and rash. These symptoms clear up without treatment in a few weeks. Some people who have been infected with HIV have remained without symptoms for as long as 10 years.
Other symptoms can be fatigue, chills, fever, night sweats weight loss, diarrhea, and dry cough.
It is really hard to say everyone is different. If you are generally healthy and have a good immune system you might live for a long time. If you do not then the virus may turn to AIDS faster.
The best thing to do is verify you indeed to have HIV, inform your partner(s), and do not pass it to others.

Your prognosis is not very good if you are infected with HIV and do not receive proper treatment. Getting correct, reliable information is very important. Contacting a local Planned Parenthood office or going to the link I have included are 2 places to receive such information. Please understand that most people who respond to questions are kids who really only repeat what they have heard.

HIV CANNOT BE TRANSMITTED THROUGH SEX. See my question and this video

Its hard to say how long anyone will live! I would talk to a doctor and see what they say!

There is no answer to that question... some people get sick right away and some can live a healthy life for years... your chances are better with treatment.

That's will be up to you. I read in the news paper where a man just found out he had HIV and he die that very night. He took a rope and hung himself. It's a choice that he made. People can live long times with HIV and some people don't. it's all up to you and how well you are willing to take care of yourself.

The average is 8 years (depending upon the strain you contract). Basically there are no definite "early signs" of HIV, sometimes people have a flu like illness several weeks after infection but lots don't, and a flu like illness can be LOTS of different things and is only very rarely HIV. The disease has to be quite far progressed before you start to show symptoms DEFINITELY associated with HIV.

There is no point in avoiding medications though, if you are worried, get an HIV test and then worry about medications etc afterwards.
