How long a person can live with medication if hiv is detected at early stage? |
How long a person can live with medication if hiv is detected at early stage? as long you live happy and have good nutrient of food..you'll last a bout 25 years....the main reason it is so killing in countries like africa is because sometimes some of their people is lack of nutrient..and they suffer "immuno-depression" lack of nutrient..that is why HIV can kill fast if you don't love yourself The average survival rate after diagnosis is 25 years. And it's lengthening all of the time. From what I heard around 24 years. Sometimes many many years. In fact some people who were diagnosed in the 80's are still alive today and some of those have never actually been ill or taken medication. Depending on his/her health condition. It's possible that HIV infection will not progress to AIDs - in which case life expectancy is unaltered. However, studies are showing us this is very rare. In most cases, you progress to AIDs within 10 years of infection. After that, retroviral and other drugs may contain the replication of the virus, but your immune system will still be compromised, and any one of many opportunistic diseases can kill you. That said, many people are now apparently living long and happy lives after infection, provided they can afford the appropriate drugs, and can tolerate the side effects. There are people still alive today that were diagnosed in the early 80's. It depends on how well you take care of yourself after you are diagnosed. |
