How do people live with HIV/Aids? There are many medications people can take that help them to live a long time relatively illness-free. The medications can have some harsh side effects, but they can delay substantially the time it takes for HIV to become AIDS. Many people live for years with HIV with relatively few health problems due to these medications! many meds like a nrmal persn. they take the meds for their disease. they are are careful if they have sex... The General concensus is the same with those who have HIV as those without it, They live......... With Todays ever expanding knowledge of HIV and the Virus that causes AIDS, there are many medications that "slow down" the Diseases process, 4 main types of drugs exhist, Protease Inhibitors, Infusion inhibitors, Neucleotide reverse transcriptease inhibitors and Non-neucleotide Reverse Transcriptease Inhibitors. These drugs are given to HIV + persons once either the "Viral load" goes above a certain point (The number of HIV copies per ml of blood) or the CD-4 count (# of CD-4 cells) drops below a certain level.
