HIV Yes it can be detected through urine. Typical HIV tests, including the HIV enzyme immunoassay and the Western blot assay, detect HIV antibodies in serum, plasma, oral fluid, dried blood spot or urine of patients. I think it needs to be detected in blood, nit sure about urine, but HIV is no longer a death sentence, although many do die, but its usually through other things that body cant fight off while its fighting the HIV. The meds help alot but its not a cure, the best thing is be safe and get tested often.
