PLS HELP ME!!HIV via infected food!?

Dear Experts,
Although you establish that HIV could transmit in three ways: Unprotected sexual intercourse, used syringes, and blood transfusion ..But I have one question:
Could HIV transmis via contaminated food ? When I was having lunch in the restaurant, and I went to toilet, left my food uncared, as I went back, the waiter said that there was a man who looked very... suspicious, he came near my table and maybe put something into my bowl. The waiter advised me not to take the food, but I ate the whole bowl....
If the man intentionaly tried to put some HIV infected blood into my bowl and I ate that bowl right away, could this situation put me at a risk? Does HIV live outside the body for more than 3-5 seconds ? And Could the food kill HIV ?I do not mention the effectiveness of saliva in my mouth because when I was at home and looked at the mirror, I realised that I have some rotten teeth ? IF HIV was still alive and brought into my mouth, I was scared to death!HELP ME!

I'm not even going to read it, because the answer is no.

HIV cannot be transmited via contaminated food because it's fragile out of human body. You may check the HIV blog: http://www.positivesingles.com... Report It

no if the blood is in contact with the air for even a second it will kill off the HIV there is no way you can get it from blood that isnt in direct contact with your own blood

wwoooaahhh....

many says HIV don't live in saliva that's why u don't get AIDS by kissing.... but eating HIV-infected blood with decayed teeth?? now that's sumthing else!

well just hope and pray...hehe

No, u can not get the virus through ur food. The blood if any was put into ur food would die off in ur food. The blood cells does not live that long outside the body!

There has never been a documented HIV transmission through such exposure and I suspect it never has occurred. Consider household contacts who are not sex partners of HIV infected persons, living in the same household for 10 years or more, shaing the same bathroom, towels, cooking utensils, kitchen equipment, and food. None of them has ever gotten infected. This is why there are no work restrictions or special licensing requirements for HIV infected persons to work as cooks, food handlers, and waiters; thousands of such persons undoubtedly are HIV infected in the US alone.

So the answer is no, there is no risk.

Best wishes

First of all, I am not an expert in the subject but I have enough knowledge about HIV as to answer your question.
HIV can not be transmitted via contaminated food, since the virus is pretty weak and it is necessary to have a very high concentration of virus in blood entering to your body. The only recognized ways to get infected are through sexual unprotected intercourse, intravenous injection, unsafe blood transfusion or direct contact of blood in an open wound - likely but not certain- or infected needle for medical care workers. That's all.
Kissing does not transmit HIV, going to the toilet or eating something does not transmit HIV, mosquito not either, but AIDS is not the more fearful disease that exist. Depending where you live you must prevent different transmissible infections.
Do you have to look at yourself at the mirror to find out that you do have some rotten teeth?
How can you been so concern about a paranoid situation when if true you are in more risk to get Hepatitis B,C,A and so many other diseases that you could be acquire through contaminated food.
Your story sounds really a creepy made out way to get out information in the wrong place. If you were scared to death, you would have visited your physician and already requested an authorized opinion and ask him if necessary any medication to prevent the HIV transmission. That already exists.
Believe me, if you think you have been a victim of a biological weapon, then report it to the authorities, get the medical attention you need and be ready to get infected with anything else but HIV.
From far getting Hepatitis B and C is more easy and equally or even more lethal than having AIDS nowadays.
Just stop being scared, go for some real prevention to the real threats you might be eventually facing, and take better care of your teeth.

I believe you can't get infected via infected food. But next time when someone tells you something bad was done to your food or anything else, listen to that person. Don't do whatever you want just to make a point and then be scared about it.

r u serious?realy!r u SERIOUS....
what kind of person would eat the bowel...maybe the guy put in the bowel some his running nose or saliva from his mouth.
congratulations.
could u catch hiv!!!no dear hiv is already in ur head!!

THERE ARE ONLY 3 WAYS TO GET THE HIV INFECTION:
1-UNPROTECTED SEX
2-SHARING NEEDLES
3-BLOOD TRANSFUSION

What part did you not understand?

Why the HELL would you still eat the food after the waiter told you what happened?

Whoa! Settle down. I have never heard a case were someone got HIV by someone putting infected blood into the food. Maybe just get the test done. it takes a few weeks for symptoms to show. U should have listened and not eaton the food!
