Welcome to Positive Advice services

If you've got a problem, we should be able to help you find the solution

Quality of life is not just about how well we're feeling.  It's about having a decent home, enough money to live on and effective support if things go wrong.  It remains to be seen if the new model of advice services that is now in place - shorter interventions, cheaper results - provides that support.

Our Peer Advisors continue their work with one huge advantage - we don't have to turn anyone away because you live in the wrong postcode area. Our phone number is 020 7564 2180, or leave a message on 0800 183 0303 and we will call you back.

For South Londoners UKC has been commissioned by the South London HIV partnership to take over the delivery of The Specialist Advice Service which was formerly contracted to the Terence Higgins Trust. Our Specialist Advice Service offers you an accredited information, advice, and casework service for people living with HIV/Aids who live in, or attend clinics in south London.

This contract is to the end of March 2007, and you will be able to access advice on issues such as immigration, housing, employment, health and welfare benefits from a team of accredited advisers based at three centres in south London. The centres are:

UKC @ 250 Kennington Lane, London SE11 5RD – Tuesdays from 4 to 7pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 4pm

Positive Place @ 52 Deptford Broadway, London SE8 4PH
Mondays from 10 to 5pm

Cornerstone House, Room 162, 14 Willis Road, Croydon CR0 2XX
Thursday from 10 to 5pm

Sessions are by appointment only and can be booked through UKC’s reception on 0800 183 0303. You can also contact us by email - advice@ukcoaltiion.org

Since 2004 - for refugees and asylum seekers, recognising they have specific cultural and language needs, a qualified guidance worker and a pool of trained volunteers will provide one-to-one guidance. The service will enable them to access support and advice on education, training and employment which will help in increasing their self confidence, assertiveness and knowledge of opportunities.

Our advice service is accredited to Matrix Standards for Information and Guidance.

If you are having a problem, why not contact one of our advisors and see if we can help you find the answer.

If you need legal advice , contact a local Citizens Advice Bureau or a solicitor (check to find a local firm by clicking here to see a list of Community Legal Service funded solicitors, formerly called Legal Aid). If you have trouble finding a solicitor, phone our advice line, or your local Citizens Advice Bureau to try to find one suitable locally.
