How long does it usually take for people with hiv to get symptoms ?

If you've tested positive for HIV, you should already be on the "cocktail" your doctor prescribed. If you keep taking it and continue to have regular check-ups, you could be reasonably fine for many, many years to come.

Many people have no symptoms for years. Some people have flu-like symptoms within a few months of infection, but not everyone does. Most of the time, symptoms do not occur until the immune system has been seriously damaged.

People usually test positive within 3 months of the time they are infected, but in rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for a person to test positive.

Some people show symptoms within a couple of weeks; however, these symptoms are flu-like in nature and are usually dismissed. They clear up on their own and you could go years before other symptoms appear and it's sometimes too late for help then.

Get tested.

Apparently it can take up to a year for it to show up on a blood test.

So if you're going to get tested, or somebody else you know, and you are still worried over a period of time, continue getting tested.

It could take weeks, months, even years. If you suspect you or someone else may have it,gat a test done, and don't fool around with this.

It can take several years for HIV to show up as positive in a test, but I'm not sure how long on average it takes to notice changes.

Well if your not sure, I would definatley get a blood test done, but I believe that it is around 3 months for it to show up in a blood test.

From a few months to 10 or 15 years. A very large spread. A blood test will tell you very quickly.

Roughly 10-15 years for SYMPTOMS.

It takes about 3 months for it to show on a blood test.

It can take up to ten years.
