Introduction from UKC
The NHS commissioned UKC in the autumn of 2004 to collate responses to a new draft HIV Strategy for London. The strategy deals with London-wide services that are planned and purchased across London by the NHS London HIV Consortium.
There was an attempt at a strategy document in 2000, but it was never published. This time there is a commitment to publish the HIV Strategy by April 2005 when it will be implemented.
Patients and the public helped to draft this new Strategy - the consultation gave others a turn to see how far the work has gone and add any comments they had. In particular there were four main questions the NHS wanted answering.

The final strategy is due to be released in time for implimentation from April 1st 2005,
