Members

Please note that we are actively working to increase the representative nature of the Board of Directors - if you have the time an energy to commit to the organisation, have tested HIV positive and are out about your HIV status, please get in touch with us about coming on board.

The Directors are also the Trustees of the charity.

The Company Secretary post is an appointment, the post holder is not a member of the UK Coalition of People Living with HIV and AIDS, is not a director of the Company or a Trustee of the charity; the Company Secretary does not have a vote at Board meetings.. The charity is a limited company, the people named above are directors of that company and, as such, are also the Trustees of the charity.  Mrs Ruth Webb retired as Chairman of the Board of Directors on 1st September 2002, remained as a member of the Board until 31 December 2002* . Mrs Joan d’Souza retired as a Director on 31 March 2003.

Affiliate Members

Any person normally resident in the United Kingdom and who has tested positive to antibodies to HIV is entitled to affiliate membership of the organisation.  There is no charge for this and this category of membership was introduced in March 2002 in order to “open up” the organisation, encourage people to be involved, feel some ownership and have some say in what we do.

Affiliate members will be canvassed for opinions on issues, either through Positive Nation, by post or via this website.  This category of membership brings no responsibilities for people that don’t want them.  Anyone that wants to become more involved is encouraged to discuss that with us no matter where you are in the country.

We need regional representation on the board of directors, and regional correspondents on the magazine, alongside people who can physically make it to our offices in Vauxhall, London.
